SnapshotsPackages make it possible to install apps on LinuxThat might not be possible otherwise. Snap isn’t Linux’s most popular universal package format, that title goes to Flatpak. But I find Snaps to be extremely useful. Snap packages are something I’ve used for a while, mainly because many of the productivity tools I use don’t come in the.deb package format.

Besides, the more the better on Linux is what I’ve always believed. The Linux application landscape has been rather limited for a long time in the productivity category. This is no longer the case thanks to universal packaging.

Which Snap applications do you think can boost your productivity in Linux? Answering that question is always a personal decision, simply because everyone has different ideas about productivity. There are some things we can agree on.

I’d like to share five Snap apps I’ve been using for quite some time or that have recently caught my eye. If this list doesn’t have what you’re searching for, you can always go to the Snapcraft StoreSearch through the list of apps.

Let’s now move on to the applications.

1. Bitwarden

You can learn more about it here. You can also use a password manager. Now. You’re already behind the curve if you’re just thinking about using a password management tool. There are a number of password managers available on the market for every operating system, but I’ve found that none of them offer the same level of ease of use and feature set as Bitwarden

Bitwarden can be used as a personal or business password manager, and has all the features that you need. This includes custom fields, folders and organizations. Bitwarden lets you manage, share, and store your passwords. It also allows you to send secure messages, create secure notes, or save identities. Snap can install Bitwarden using the following command.

2. Slack

I use Slack everyday. Without this communication/collaboration tool, my work wouldn’t be nearly as efficient as it is. Slack’s only downside is that not all my clients use it. For those clients who don’t use Slack… it shows. Working with clients who don’t use Slack isn’t as efficient.

I have to wait for their responses, follow up if they don’t, and pull my hair out all the while. Slack keeps me connected, informed, and collaborative. I can’t imagine how much less productive I would be if this tool wasn’t available. Snap is a Snap version that can be installed by using the command:
